Four Arrested in Lagos for Alleged Petrol Fraud Scheme

On April 14, 2023, at 6:00 PM, the Nigeria Police Force arrested four suspects aged between 33 and 43 in Satellite Town, Lagos, for their involvement in an alleged petrol fraud scheme. The suspects were reportedly attempting to acquire 60,000 liters of petrol at a price significantly below the approved depot rate, using false pretenses to deceive officials.

SP Abimbola Adebisi, the spokesperson for the police command, stated that the suspects had brought five articulated trucks with different registration numbers to facilitate the operation. During the investigation, the suspects admitted their involvement but claimed they were not affiliated with any recognized union operating at the depot.
