Police Arrest Suspect in N1.02bn Petrol Theft Case

The Lagos State Police Command announced the arrest of a principal suspect involved in the theft of N1.02 billion worth of premium motor spirit. Mr.

Fatai Tijani disclosed that the suspect, aged 38, was apprehended after a 12-day intensive investigation initiated upon receiving a complaint related to Petit Mea Energy. The investigation utilized technical intelligence and surveillance, leading to the suspect's capture in Delta after he attempted to evade justice.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to his involvement in the crime, which prompted further investigations that resulted in the recovery of cash and properties valued at N300 million. The police indicated that efforts to arrest a second suspect are ongoing, and the principal suspect will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
