Police Arrest Bandit with 109 Rounds of Ammunition

The Kano State Police Command arrested a suspect identified as Mohammed Isah Haruna, 28, in Bichi Local Government Area on a Saturday following credible intelligence. Haruna was apprehended while dressed in military attire near Rimawa Village.

A search of his bag revealed an AK-47 magazine loaded with 30 rounds of live ammunition, along with an additional 79 rounds of AK-47 ammunition. Authorities also recovered two sets of military uniforms, three military caps, a fake military identification card, a national identification card, a NIN slip, a voter’s card, four ATM cards, and a pair of desert boots.

During interrogation, Haruna confessed that the items were intended for delivery to bandits operating in the bush. CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the police spokesperson, commended the Rimawa community for their timely information that led to the arrest, emphasizing the importance of community partnership in enhancing security.

Haruna remains in police custody as investigations continue to identify and apprehend other members of the criminal network.
