Kano Police Arrest Suspected Bandit, Seize Ammunition

The Kano State Police Command arrested 28-year-old Mohammed Isah Haruna, a suspected bandit, in Bichi Local Government Area on Saturday. The arrest was made following credible intelligence received about a man in military uniform in Rimawa Village.

Police personnel swiftly responded to the report, leading to the suspect's interception. During the search, authorities recovered an AK-47 magazine loaded with 30 rounds of live ammunition, an additional 79 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, two sets of military uniforms, three military caps, a fake military identification card, a pair of desert boots, a national identification card, a voter’s card, and four ATM cards.

The suspect confessed during interrogation that he traveled to the area to deliver the recovered items for bandit operations. Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Bakori commended the Rimawa community for their vigilance and cooperation with security personnel, emphasizing the critical role of community partnership in combating crime.

The suspect remains in custody as investigations continue, with plans to charge him in court upon completion of the inquiry.
