Police Seize 174 Rounds of Ammunition in Nasarawa

On June 22, 2026, the Nasarawa State Police Command, under the leadership of Public Relations Officer Ramhan Nansel, intercepted 174 rounds of AK-47 live ammunition during a routine patrol in Toto. The suspect, identified as Abubakar Abdullahi, was found concealing the ammunition and could not provide a satisfactory explanation regarding the source or intended destination of the ammunition.

Nansel stated that the suspect is currently in police custody as investigations continue to uncover the criminal network behind the illegal movement of arms. Commissioner of Police Shetima Jauro reaffirmed the command's commitment to combat all forms of crime, particularly the proliferation of illegal arms and ammunition.

He warned criminals to renounce their activities or face the full weight of the law, emphasizing that there will be no safe haven for them in Nasarawa State. The command is intensifying intelligence-led police surveillance operations across the state.
