Police Arrest Five for Telecom Infrastructure Theft

Five individuals, identified as Mohammed Shaibu (26), Musa Zakari (29), Abdullahi Bala (22), Salisu Musa (18), and Yahuza Bala (20), were arrested by the Lagos State Police for allegedly stealing iron poles designated for the construction of telecommunication masts. The suspects were apprehended while transporting the stolen materials in a truck.

SP Abimbola Adebisi, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrests and stated that the suspects are currently in custody. Investigations are being conducted by detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department in Yaba.

Efforts are underway to apprehend additional suspects who managed to flee the scene. CP Tijani Fatai, the Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, emphasized the command's commitment to protecting critical infrastructure and ensuring that those involved in vandalism and theft face justice.

He urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their communities.
