Ondo Police Arrest Four Officers for Extortion Video

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested four officers captured in a viral video allegedly demanding money from a motorist along the Ijebu-Ode–Ore–Benin Expressway. The arrested officers are ASP Elomore Sodayo (AP/No. 207454), Inspector Adefila Adewale (AP/No. 332012), Inspector Olorunfemi Opeyemi (AP/No. 332449), and Inspector Odusola Peter (AP/No. 332369).

On Friday, Commissioner of Police Felix Ohagwu addressed the media at the command headquarters in Akure, emphasizing the police's zero tolerance for indiscipline and unprofessional conduct. He announced that a comprehensive investigation has been ordered to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident and the level of culpability of each officer involved.

Ohagwu reiterated that the Nigeria Police Force is a disciplined institution that does not condone misconduct or actions that undermine public confidence. He assured the public that the investigation would be thorough and that any officer found culpable would face appropriate disciplinary action.
