Four Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested in Ondo State

The Ondo State Police Command arrested four individuals suspected of involvement in armed robbery and burglary activities in the Idanr Local Government Area. The suspects, identified as Alex Omotayo, Adeley Bolu, Osho Ibukun, and Nura Umar, were apprehended following a complaint made on June 15, 2026, at the Alad Atosin Police Station regarding a burglary at a cocoa store, where goods worth N1,250,000 were stolen.

Investigations led to the identification of the suspects through intelligence gathering. On March 13, 2026, the principal suspect, Alex Omotayo, allegedly invaded Idanr High School premises armed with two firearms, threatening a security guard.

A search warrant executed at Omotayo's residence resulted in the recovery of a cut-size single barrel firearm and a locally made revolver. The recovered weapons have been taken into police custody as evidence.

The case has been transferred to the Anti-Cultism Unit of the command in Akure for further investigation, with efforts ongoing to apprehend remaining gang members.
