Police Arrest Four for Robbing E-Hailing Drivers in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command arrested four suspects on July 7, 2026, for their involvement in robbing e-hailing drivers in Abuja. The suspects, identified as Ibrahim Ismail, Omar Rizku, Asehu Omar, and Abubakar Sanusi, were part of a vehicle theft syndicate that specialized in posing as passengers on e-hailing platforms to rob drivers of their vehicles and valuables.

Following credible intelligence, the police's violent crime response unit conducted operations that led to the recovery of two stolen vehicles: an ash-colored Toyota RAV4 with registration number YAB 240 DL and a grey Honda Civic with registration number ABC 72 JP. The suspects were charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

Police Commissioner Ahm Sanusi emphasized the importance of public cooperation in enhancing security efforts and maintaining safety in the Federal Capital Territory.
