Man Arrested for Killing Father Over Property Dispute

A man has been arrested by the Rivers State Police Command for allegedly hacking his father, retired Marine Captain David Nwoke, to death over a property dispute in the Obio Akpor Local Government Area. The incident occurred on Sunday morning, as the suspect reportedly hid in a room of their house, waiting for his father to return from his routine morning exercise.

The deceased had planned to relocate to his hometown in the southeast and intended to distribute his property among his children, including the suspect. Tensions escalated when the suspect demanded his father's car, which was declined.

Upon the father's return, the suspect emerged from hiding and attacked him with a machete. Despite sustaining injuries, the father managed to escape momentarily before being attacked again.

Neighbors were alerted, and the police were contacted, leading to the suspect's arrest. The investigation is ongoing, as confirmed by police spokesperson ASP Bless Agab.
