Nurse and accomplice arrested for baby abduction in Jigawa

The Jigawa State Police Command arrested 25-year-old nursing officer Sadik Sale Yahaya and 20-year-old Khadija Aliyu over the alleged abduction of a one-and-a-half-year-old boy from the paediatric ward of Babura General Hospital. The incident was reported following a distress call from the hospital regarding the child's disappearance.

Police operatives acted on credible intelligence, leading to the arrest of Khadija Aliyu, who was found with the child on the outskirts of town. Investigations revealed that she intended to take the child to an orphanage in Kaduna State and sell him for ₦2 million.

During interrogation, Aliyu confessed to her intentions. The nursing officer, Sadik Sale Yahaya, was implicated in the conspiracy.

The child has been placed in protective custody and will be reunited with his family after verification. Both suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue, with the police committed to identifying any additional individuals involved in the abduction.
