Six Fake Pastors Arrested for Fraudulent Miracles in Ondo

On February 16, 2026, the Ondo State Police Command arrested six individuals who posed as pastors and were accused of defrauding residents in Idanr, a local government area. According to a statement from police spokesman Jimoh Kazeem, the suspects were part of a fraudulent syndicate that performed fake miracles to deceive unsuspecting victims.

The suspects, identified as Fadahunsi Kolad, Tijani Iyanuoluwa Arijesulola Ademola, and others, allegedly staged these miracles to gain the trust of their victims, exploiting their faith and emotional vulnerabilities. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects operated in a coordinated manner, assigning specific roles to create a convincing facade of legitimacy.

The police are continuing their investigation to ascertain the total number of victims and the financial magnitude of the fraud. The suspects are currently in police custody and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

The police advised the public to exercise due diligence to avoid falling prey to individuals exploiting religion for fraudulent purposes.
