Police Arrest Suspected Armed Robber in Rivers State

The Rivers State Police Command arrested a suspected armed robber, Austin Emenik, popularly known as Oyibo, during an intelligence-led operation in Aluu, Ikwerr Local Government Area. The operation, described as a major success, resulted in the recovery of multiple firearms, including a locally made pistol, four single-barrel guns, and five live cartridges.

The operation was conducted under the direction of Police Commissioner Olugbenga Adepoju, who emphasized the command's commitment to tackling violent crime in the state. Preliminary investigations suggest that Emenik is linked to a wider criminal network, and further investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest other gang members.

Commissioner Adepoju urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, highlighting the importance of public cooperation in improving security across Rivers State.
