Delta Police Arrest Two Suspected Drug Dealers in Asaba

On August 13, 2026, the Delta State Police Command arrested two individuals, Hillary Osondu and Abubakar Bello, both aged 54, suspected of drug dealing. The arrests occurred during a stop-and-search operation conducted by personnel from the police patrol team attached to Operation Delta Shield along Nnebisi Road in Asaba.

During the operation, the police intercepted a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number ZBL-549-XA. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of 132 sachets of 100mg tramadol.

Following the recovery, both suspects were taken into custody, and the police stated that investigations are ongoing regarding the case. Bright Edafe, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Delta State Command, provided this information in a statement released on Friday.
