Police and CJTF Respond to Armed Herders in Benue; Gunmen Strike Residents in Osun State

In Benue State, security agencies, including the Nigerian Police and Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), are on high alert following reports of a large number of armed Fulani herder bandits setting up camps in various local government areas. The security personnel have deployed proactively to forestall possible attacks on surrounding communities.

In a separate incident, gunmen attacked residents in Ora-Igbomina, Osun State, near the border with Kwara State. The assailants stormed a private residence, firing gunshots and causing panic among the residents.

The Osun State Police Command confirmed the attack and swiftly responded to the situation. One resident recounted the terrifying experience, highlighting the attackers' familiarity with the terrain and their ability to escape easily.
