Police and Customs to Hold Live Shooting Exercises in Kano

The Kano State Police Command announced that the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Customs Service will conduct separate live ammunition shooting exercises in the Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area. The police exercise is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 6 PM to 6 PM, while the Customs training exercise will take place from Monday, July 20 to Thursday, July 23, 2026, also from 6 PM to 6 PM.

CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the police public relations officer, issued a statement advising residents of nearby communities, including Dambazau, Gangaren Duts, Tumfafi, Kakurum, Dandalama, and Ungogo, to avoid the shooting range during the exercises. The statement urged residents not to panic upon hearing gunshots and reassured them that necessary safety measures would be implemented to protect lives and property throughout the training period.
