NDLEA Seizes Ammunition Concealed in Palm Oil Kegs

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) intercepted 73 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition concealed inside kegs of palm oil along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway. The operation, conducted at Jere, resulted in the arrest of a 30-year-old suspect named Abubakar Amadu.

NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi stated that the suspect has been handed over to the appropriate security agency for further investigation regarding the source and intended destination of the ammunition. This operation is part of a broader nationwide intelligence-led raid that resulted in the seizure of illicit drugs valued at over ₦10 billion.

In related operations, NDLEA arrested Mustapha Sani, 30, in Katsina State with 323 rounds of military-grade ammunition and apprehended alleged drug kingpin Onuigbo Ndubisi Chinedu, 55, for attempting to export 3.30 kilograms of cocaine concealed in food items bound for the UK. Additional seizures included 2.24 million pills of Tapentadol and 2,388.5 kilograms of Canadian Loud, underscoring NDLEA's commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks.
