Kano Police Intercept Arms, Arrest Armed Robbers

The Kano State Police Command announced notable successes in combating crime over a two-day period. On August 13, 2026, police recovered a Tokarev pistol with 48 rounds of ammunition from a suspicious parcel, leading to the arrest of a suspect who confessed to purchasing the firearm from another state.

Additionally, five suspected armed robbers—Basiru Ibrahim (25), Saidu Madaki (23), Sa’adu Ibrahim (25), Lawan Yusuf (24), and Muktar Salisu (21)—were apprehended in Jajaye Village, linked to multiple robbery cases and the theft of five motorcycles. Furthermore, two individuals, Karimu Mamman and Madama, were arrested for possessing a stolen cow and ram.

The Commissioner of Police, Adamu Ibrahim Bakori, commended the public for their vigilance and the police divisions involved for their professionalism. These operations align with directives from Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu on community policing and proactive crime prevention.
