Kano Police Recover Two Stolen Vehicles, Arrest Suspect

The Kano State Police Command has successfully recovered two stolen vehicles and arrested one suspect as part of ongoing intelligence-led operations aimed at dismantling vehicle theft syndicates. This was disclosed in a statement by CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa on Wednesday.

One vehicle, a white Toyota Hilux with registration number KMC 25, was reported stolen on July 26 from Lamido Crescent in Tarauni Local Government Area. The owner, Zaiyyad Farouk, reported the theft after his driver parked it at 10:35 p.m.

The Special Intervention Squad (SIS) tracked and recovered the vehicle from Abdussalam Salisu of Kurna Asabe Quarters. The second vehicle, a black Hyundai Elantra, was stolen on July 10 from Annur Mosque in Abuja and was recovered on July 22 in Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State after suspects abandoned it upon sighting police operatives.

The police linked the suspects to an interstate vehicle theft syndicate operating across Abuja, Kaduna, and Kano states. Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Bakori praised the SIS for their professionalism and commitment to public safety.
