Manhunt for Suspects After Magistrate's Car Theft

The Abia State Police Command has initiated a manhunt for suspects following the theft of a black Toyota Corolla belonging to Chief Magistrate Mr. Ngozi Pearl Lekwa.

The incident occurred on Tuesday at approximately 9:00 AM when Mr. Lekwa parked her vehicle outside the court premises along Finbarr Road.

After briefly leaving her office, she discovered the car missing around noon. A friend later informed her that the vehicle was seen being driven away at high speed from the vicinity of Market Square.

Although the friend initially assumed the driver was sent on an errand, the speed of the vehicle raised concerns. Mr.

Lekwa confirmed that she had ordered a steering lock for added security but had not yet received it for the vehicle in question. The police have confirmed the report and are actively investigating the case.

DSP Maureen Chinaka, the police public relations officer, urged the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings of the vehicle to assist in the recovery efforts.
