Police Recover Stolen SUV Linked to Bishop's Murder

The Anambra State Police Command reported a significant breakthrough in the investigation of the murder of Bishop Chinedu Clarence Jame, who was abducted and shot dead on May 12, 2026, during an attack in Delta State. The police recovered a stolen Toyota Land Cruiser associated with the crime and arrested two suspects, Uchenna Nicola and Uchenna Igw.

The arrests followed credible intelligence received early on Wednesday regarding the vehicle's movement towards Anambra State for potential sale. A special operation led by the command's intelligence response unit tracked the stolen SUV and monitored suspect contacts believed to be involved in a vehicle disposal syndicate.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Nicola confessed to his involvement in the crime and disclosed that he contacted his cousin Igw in Onitsha to help secure a buyer for the stolen vehicle.
