Police Arrest Cultist, Recover Gun in Lagos Operation

On a weekend, the Lagos State Police Command apprehended a 27-year-old suspect, Yusuf Lamina Adigun, believed to be a member of a cult group. The arrest occurred during a routine stop-and-search operation in the Ijaiy Ojokoro area of Lagos State.

Police intercepted a motorcycle carrying three passengers, leading to the discovery of a locally made pistol loaded with live cartridges. Preliminary interrogation revealed that Adigun intended to disrupt police operations and was part of a larger plan to attack individuals.

He is currently in police custody, and a manhunt has been launched for other gang members who managed to escape. The Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, CP Tijani Fatai, reaffirmed the command's commitment to intelligence-driven policing and sustained operations against cultism and violent crime, urging residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information to assist in crime prevention.
