Police Arrest 31 in Abia State Drug Raid Operation

The Abia State Police Command executed a raid on various criminal hideouts across Abia State, leading to the arrest of 31 suspects, comprising 30 men aged between 22 and 46 years and one woman. This operation was directed by the Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, and was carried out by the police's public relations officer, Maureen Chinaka.

The raids were part of an intensified effort to clear criminal enclaves in the state, following intelligence operations that identified specific locations known for drug-related activities. The operation took place on July 1, 2026, and included the dismantling of a makeshift camp in Amuzukwu, which was described as a drug bunker.

During the raid, various illicit substances were recovered, and eight tents constructed from tarpaulin materials were destroyed. The suspects have been charged and remanded in custody, with the police reaffirming their commitment to tackling crime in the state and urging the public to provide credible information regarding criminal activities.
