Gombe Police Recover Pistol and Stolen Car in Operations

The Gombe State Police Command successfully recovered a Beretta pistol and a stolen 2010 Toyota Camry in two separate operations conducted within 48 hours. According to the command's spokesperson, Buhari Abdullahi, the first incident involved the discovery of the Beretta pistol, which had an empty magazine.

The firearm was found concealed beneath a stone near the Brave Rock Sport Recreational Park in the New Gra area of Gombe. Residents promptly reported the firearm to the police, who responded immediately to the scene.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the ownership of the weapon and the circumstances surrounding its concealment. In a separate operation, the police recovered the stolen Toyota Camry, which was abandoned by suspects attempting to evade arrest.

The police control room coordinated the response, leading to the recovery of the vehicle, which contained suspicious items. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.

The state police spokesperson commended the residents for their vigilance and cooperation, urging them to continue providing credible information to enhance public safety.
