Police Rescue 11 Kidnap Victims on Gummi-Sokoto Road

On Tuesday, the Zamfara State Police Command reported the rescue of 11 individuals who were kidnapped by armed bandits during an ambush on Gummi-Sokoto Road at approximately 10:30 a.m. The attack involved a large group of gunmen who opened fire on a trailer transporting vegetables and passengers, causing the driver to lose control and veer off the road.

One passenger, identified as Dan Fati Umar from Gidan Ganja via Bukuyum, was killed in the incident, while another sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment. An unspecified number of passengers were abducted during the assault.

Following a swift response from police operatives and other security personnel, the 11 kidnapped victims were successfully rescued and have since been reunited with their families. The trailer involved in the attack is under police protection, and efforts are ongoing to rescue any remaining abducted victims and apprehend the attackers.
