Police to Arraign 'Phantom' Council DG for Fraud

The police are preparing to arraign Adeyemi, who is accused of being the director-general of a non-existent council, on multiple charges including forgery and impersonation. The arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday, with Wisdom Madaki serving as the prosecuting officer.

The case has been adjourned previously due to Adeyemi's indisposition. Key witnesses listed include Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President, and several civil servants.

Evidence expected to be presented includes police investigative reports and documentation of Adeyemi's fraudulent activities, such as a fake presidential appointment letter dated March 8, 2024, and requests for account approvals from the Central Bank of Nigeria. President Bola Tinubu has directed the ICPC to conduct a thorough investigation into the activities of fictitious agencies, giving them 30 days to complete their investigation.
