Police Train 192 Officers On Cybercrime Solution, Arrest Three For Online Fraud

Police have trained 192 officers on cybercrime solutions in a program that ran from July 9 to August 15, 2025, in partnership with Radio Tactics Group Limited. The training included officers from 36 state commands and the Federal Capital Territory, as well as 10 specialized units.

The program aimed to enhance digital forensic skills and improve investigations. Officers were trained in identifying threats, retrieving and processing data from various devices, and using biometric capture techniques.

The training also focused on connecting intelligence and operational data to strengthen the fight against cybercrime. Additionally, three suspects, Gbenga Samuel, Dele Titus, and Olalekan Oke, were arrested in Abuja and Lagos for cyberstalking, identity theft, and online fraud.

The arrests came after a WhatsApp account hack where the suspects demanded money to avoid exposing sensitive information. The Police Force reiterated its commitment to adopting digital approaches to enhance officer training and meet global standards in combating cybercrime.
