Akwa Ibom Police Enforce Traffic Laws Statewide

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command issued a warning to motorists regarding traffic violations, stating that anyone found guilty will face legal consequences. The command, represented by Public Relations Officer Timfon John, announced a commitment to a statewide enforcement exercise across all 31 local government areas in Akwa Ibom State.

This initiative aims to restore order on the roads, minimize avoidable accidents, protect lives and property, and ensure smooth movement of people and vehicles. The police will focus on specific violations, including driving against traffic, operating without valid vehicle documents or a driver's license, and using unauthorized number plates.

The command stressed that ignorance of the law will not be accepted as an excuse. Officers across the state have been instructed to maintain professionalism during enforcement, with zero tolerance for extortion or harassment.

Motorists and operators of motorcycles and tricycles are urged to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy and that all necessary documents are valid.
