POWA's Disu Advocates AI and Skills Training for Women

Mr. Olufunmilola Disu, the President of POWA, visited the POWA Skill Acquisition Centre located in Dei Dei Barrack, Abuja, where he underscored the significance of digital inclusion and the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in empowering women.

During his visit, he urged women to embrace AI and vocational skills as essential tools for economic advancement. Disu highlighted the growing influence of technology in shaping livelihoods and creating new opportunities for women seeking financial independence.

His visit aimed to assess the Centre's activities and explore ways to strengthen its capacity to equip women with practical market skills. He inspected various training units, including adult education, baking, confectionery, tailoring, hairdressing, and information communication technology (ICT).

Disu stressed the need for women to continuously develop relevant skills to enhance their earning potential and improve their quality of life. He also pledged support for staff welfare and promised to facilitate the maintenance and upgrade of the Centre's facilities to create a conducive learning environment.
