NAOWA and Ocean Wave Group Empower 100 Women and Youths

The Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), 4 Brigade Chapter, in collaboration with the Ocean Wave Group, inaugurated a two-month skills acquisition programme on July 13, 2026, targeting 100 women and youths at the NAOWA Skills Acquisition Centre in Ekehuan Military Cantonment, Benin City, Edo State. The initiative aims to empower participants with practical vocational skills across seven areas: Advanced Tailoring and Crafts, Catering, Hairdressing, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Photography and Videography, Event Decoration, and Cosmetology.

Mr. Peter Omoh Dunia, President of Ocean Wave Group, represented by Hon. Abibat Yakubu, emphasized the programme's goal to reduce unemployment and foster self-employment. Mrs. Mariam Aina Balogun, Zonal Coordinator of NAOWA 4 Brigade Chapter, highlighted the importance of the partnership in enhancing military families' welfare.

Brigadier General Ahmed Balogun, Commander of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, praised the initiative as timely and impactful, encouraging beneficiaries to leverage the skills acquired for improved livelihoods.
