Pregnant Woman Among Four Kidnapped in Niger Attack

In Niger, a pregnant woman and three others were kidnapped during an attack in Kontagora. Local resident Habibu Moham reported that the attack involved gunfire, resulting in injuries to residents.

Despite security efforts, violence in the area continues, prompting calls for urgent government action to address the growing insecurity. The attacks have been persistent, with reports indicating that at least seven young men have been killed in the Wawa forest area over the last 110 days while collecting firewood.

Two young men, Sidiq Musa and Bashar Bisalla, were shot dead by gunmen in the forest. Efforts to reach the spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, Wasiu Abiodun, were unsuccessful as he could not be contacted via phone or text.
