Uzodimma Responds to Davido on Osun Election Comments

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has reacted to comments made by Afrobeats artist David Adeleke, known as Davido, concerning the upcoming Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026. Uzodimma, who chairs the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for this election, advised Davido to prepare his uncle for life after office instead of making political appeals.

Davido, leading the youth mobilization team for Governor Ademola Adeleke's re-election campaign, warned against external political interference, indirectly referencing Uzodimma. In response, Uzodimma dismissed Davido's remarks, asserting that the election's outcome would be determined by the voters of Osun State, not by celebrities.

He claimed that dissatisfaction with Governor Ademola Adeleke's administration is growing among residents, indicating a readiness to vote for a new government. Uzodimma reiterated his commitment to lawful campaigning and the APC's strategy to persuade voters to support their candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
