Uzodimma Tells Davido to Prepare Uncle for Election Loss

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma reacted to comments made by Afrobeats star David Adeleke, known as Davido, concerning the upcoming Osun State governorship election. Davido urged politicians to promote peace and allow voters to choose freely.

In a statement from his Senior Special Assistant on Electronic and Creative Media, Ambrose Nwaogwugwu, Uzodimma advised Davido to focus on Osun voters rather than him. Uzodimma predicted that Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking re-election on August 15, 2026, would be defeated, claiming that many voters had lost confidence in his administration.

He stated that signals from Osun indicated a significant rejection of Adeleke's government. Uzodimma further suggested that Davido should prepare his uncle for life after office, implying that Adeleke might soon be out of a political role.

This exchange occurred just days before the governorship election in Osun State.
