Davido Defends Uncle Ademola Adeleke Against Edo Governor

Afrobeats star David Adeleke, known as Davido, responded to Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo's remarks about his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, during a "VOTE, NOT FIGHT" campaign in Osogbo on Friday, ahead of the August 15 governorship election. Davido questioned the negativity surrounding dancing, stating, “Is there any problem in dancing?” He criticized Okpebholo for his comments, suggesting they stemmed from a lack of talent.

Davido praised the Adeleke administration for fulfilling promises made to the people of Osun State and expressed gratitude for the support from the citizens. He also appealed to President Bola Tinubu to ensure a credible election, referencing a personal meeting where Tinubu promised a free and fair election.

Additionally, Davido shared what appeared to be Okpebholo’s WAEC result on his Instagram Stories, interpreted as a response to the governor's comments. He had previously joined Adeleke for a campaign rally, urging voters to reject violence and intimidation.
