Tinubu Reconstitutes Nigerian Police Academy Governing Council

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially reconstituted the governing council of the Nigerian Police Academy located in Wudil, Kano State. This new council comprises 16 members, including the Minister of Police Affairs as the chairman.

Other members include the Chairman of the Police Service Commission and the Inspector General of Police, representing the Federal Ministry of Education, Federal Ministry of Finance, and Federal Ministry of Justice. Additionally, six representatives from the six geopolitical zones have been appointed: Babagana Zannah (North East), Emmanuel Torkuma (North Central), Maigari Abati (North West), Dubem Obaz (South East), Ajiboger Toyin (South West), and Udom Udo Ekpoudom (South South).

The Deputy Inspector General of Police will serve as the Provost of the academy and an ex-officio member. The Registrar of the academy will act as the council's secretary.

Furthermore, President Tinubu has approved the establishment of a new campus for the police academy in Erinja, Yewa South Local Government Area, Ogun State, as announced by his special adviser on strategic matters, Bayo Onanuga.
