Protesters Demand Clarity on ₦100m ADC Allegation

On Thursday, protesters stormed the African Democratic Congress (ADC) secretariat in Abuja, driven by allegations that the party disbursed ₦100 million in connection with the recent Federal Capital Territory elections. The demonstration was organized by Amaka Christian, who emphasized that the group was not accusing the party but rather seeking transparency and accountability regarding the claims made on national television three weeks prior.

Christian stated that the group's mission was to compel the ADC leadership to confirm or deny the allegations. She noted that the group's next steps would depend on the party's response.

In response, Queen Okiyi, the Deputy National Public Secretary of the ADC, urged calm among party members and the public, describing the allegations as rumors. Okiyi defended the party's track record and cautioned against divisive rhetoric, emphasizing the importance of unity as the ADC aims for victory in the 2027 elections.
