PSC Dismisses Four Senior Police Officers for Misconduct

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has dismissed four senior police officers and demoted ten others as part of disciplinary actions taken against various acts of misconduct. This decision was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday following a plenary meeting held at the commission's corporate headquarters in Abuja.

The dismissed officers included three Superintendents of Police and one Deputy Superintendent of Police, while the demoted ranks comprised two Deputy Superintendents of Police, five Assistant Superintendents of Police, and one Inspector of Police. Additionally, the PSC approved disciplinary actions against 31 other officers, with seven being exonerated due to lack of evidence of wrongdoing.

The Chairman of the PSC, Hashimu Salihu Argungu, emphasized the board's commitment to enforcing discipline within the force and stated that the commission will not condone any form of misconduct. The commission also plans to establish a reward system to recognize exemplary service among officers.
