PSC Dismisses Four Senior Officers, Demotes Ten Others

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has dismissed four senior police officers and demoted ten others as part of a disciplinary measure to enhance professionalism within the Nigeria Police Force. The announcement was made in a statement issued on Tuesday following a plenary meeting held at the PSC's corporate headquarters in Abuja.

The dismissed officers included three Superintendents of Police and one Deputy Superintendent of Police, while the demoted ranks included two Deputy Superintendents of Police, five Assistant Superintendents of Police, and one Inspector of Police. Additionally, the PSC approved disciplinary actions against 31 other officers, with two officers facing compulsory retirement in the public interest.

The chairman of the commission, Hashimu Argungu, emphasized the commitment to enforcing discipline within the force and stated that the PSC will not condone any form of misconduct. The commission aims to promote accountability and maintain public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.
