PSFU and Taiwan Collaborate to Combat Cross-Border Fraud

The Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU) in Ikoyi, Lagos, has strengthened its international collaboration with Taiwan's mission to address the rising issue of cross-border fraud. This initiative was led by Commissioner of Police Eloho Edwin Okpoziakpo, who engaged with Taiwan's head mission, Andi Yih Ping Liu.

The focus of their discussions was on sharing intelligence and coordinating joint investigations to tackle fraud syndicates operating across borders. This meeting comes in response to growing concerns about sophisticated scams that target foreign investments, particularly as Taiwan expands its business interests in Nigeria.

Both parties agreed to deepen cooperation, enhance information exchange, and build mutual support to effectively track and prosecute offenders. CP Okpoziakpo emphasized the importance of global partnerships in disrupting international fraud networks, noting that no single jurisdiction can effectively tackle transnational crime alone.

The Taiwanese envoy welcomed this initiative and pledged closer collaboration with Nigerian authorities to curb fraud and protect legitimate investments.
