Nigerian Wrestlers Earn Scholarships to Iowa State University

The head coach of the Nigerian Women Wrestling team, Akuh Purity, praised the President of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, for his role in securing scholarships for three Nigerian wrestlers—Kolawole Esther, Christinah Ogunsanya, and Adekoye Jumoke—to Iowa State University, a prestigious NCAA Division I program. This achievement is viewed as a defining moment in the athletes' academic and sporting careers, providing them with the opportunity to compete at the highest level of collegiate athletics in the United States.

Coach Purity attributed their success to the Nigeria Wrestling Federation's leadership and Adeniyi's financial support, which has enabled Nigerian wrestlers to gain international exposure. The athletes' impressive performances in international competitions attracted the attention of recruiters from Iowa State University.
