INEC Reports High PVC Collection Turnout in Kano
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced a significant turnout for the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Kano. Nahila Bello Dandago, the Public Relations Officer of INEC in Kano, stated that both newly issued PVCs and previously uncollected cards were being collected by eligible voters.
INEC deployed 171,000 PVCs in the first batch for distribution. Dandago noted that many individuals were arriving to collect their PVCs, including those who had not previously collected their old cards.
The PVCs have been distributed to INEC offices across all 44 local government areas in Kano to ensure accessibility for eligible voters. Dandago urged those who have yet to collect their cards to visit the designated INEC offices.
This collection exercise is part of INEC's efforts to ensure that eligible voters obtain their PVCs ahead of upcoming elections.
