INEC Confirms PVCs for 2026 Registrants Not Ready Yet

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) for individuals who registered between January 5 and July 26, 2026, are not yet available for collection. This information was disclosed by Professor Ayobami Salami, the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Lagos State, during a news conference on preparations for the 2027 General Elections.
Salami stated that the commission would communicate the collection dates for the affected registrants through its official channels. He emphasized the importance of PVCs for accreditation on Election Day and noted that PVCs are currently available for those who registered between August 25 and December 10, 2025, as well as for individuals who registered between 2011 and 2022 but have not yet collected their cards.
The distribution of PVCs began on October 9, with all 245 Registration Areas in Lagos designated as collection centers. Salami also mentioned a Quick Response (QR) code initiative to assist voters in locating collection centers.
