Emma Raducanu Withdraws from Miami Open for Recovery

Emma Raducanu has officially withdrawn from the Miami Open, scheduled from March 17 to March 29, 2023, as she continues to recover from recent health issues, including post-viral symptoms. The British number one became unwell while competing in the Middle East last month.

Raducanu had a first-round bye in the Miami event but decided to withdraw after participating in the Indian Wells tournament, where she reached the third round before losing to world number six Amanda Anisimova in just 52 minutes. The 23-year-old Anisimova is currently ranked 215 points behind Raducanu, who is defending her quarter-final appearance from the previous year.

Additionally, Raducanu has opted not to compete in Great Britain's Billie Jean King Cup tie in Melbourne next month. She is scheduled to return to the tour in three weeks, entering the WTA event in Linz, which will be her first clay court tournament of the season.
