Alcaraz and Djokovic Withdraw from Madrid Open Injured

Carlos Alcaraz, the world number two, has withdrawn from the Madrid Open due to a wrist problem that also forced him to miss the Barcelona Open earlier in the week. Alcaraz is now racing against time to be ready for the French Open, which begins on May 18, where he aims to chase his third consecutive title. Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam champion, is sidelined as he continues to recover from a shoulder injury sustained during his fourth-round defeat to Jack Draper at Indian Wells last month.

Djokovic also skipped the Miami Open and the Monte Carlo Masters as part of his rehabilitation process. Both players' withdrawals raise concerns ahead of the French Open.
