Reps Summon FRSC Boss Over PFIPC Scam Allegations

The House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee investigating the activities of the alleged fake agency, the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), has summoned Shehu Mohammed, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC). Committee chairman Yusuf Gagdi stated that Mohammed is required to clarify the procedure for issuing official Federal Government number plates and how vehicles used by the PFIPC obtained government registration numbers.

This inquiry follows allegations from businessman Gbenga Collins, who claimed he was scammed of N400 million by Adeniyi Adeyemi, the Director-General of PFIPC, under the pretense of securing a lucrative government contract. Collins described his experience, stating that he was convinced of the agency's legitimacy due to the official vehicles, security personnel, and the office environment he encountered during his visit to Abuja.

He mentioned that Adeyemi invited him to discuss a business opportunity in January or February 2025, which led to his belief that he was dealing with a genuine government agency.
