Gombe Flooding Displaces Families, Destroys Homes and Farms

Heavy rainfall in Gombe's Akko community has led to severe flooding, destroying houses and farms, and displacing several families. Abdullahi Abdulkadir, the local government chairman, visited the affected area to assess the damage and identify victims.

He was accompanied by officials including Lamaran Ahm and Muhammad Abubakar Ajiya. Abdulkadir expressed sympathy for the residents' losses and assured them that the government is aware of the situation and will take necessary steps to provide support.

The Social Welfare Department is set to conduct a detailed assessment of affected households to facilitate relief material provision. Hussaini Ishiyaku, the district head of Wuro Dole, commended the local government delegation's visit and appealed for assistance from government agencies and humanitarian organizations.

Residents, including Musa Momo Wuro and Usman Munkaila, described the incident as a major disaster, with many families left homeless and in distress. They called for urgent intervention to help rebuild their homes and restore their livelihoods.
