Rite Foods Promotes Climate Change Awareness in Lagos Schools

Rite Foods Limited intensified its commitment to environmental sustainability by launching a climate change advocacy program at Opebi Grammar School in Lagos. The initiative, which coincided with World Environment Day, aimed to educate students on climate change, waste management, and recycling practices, encouraging them to become ambassadors for environmental sustainability within their communities.

Mr. Ekuma Ez, Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Rite Foods, emphasized the importance of engaging schoolchildren to instill positive environmental behaviors.

He noted that climate change is a significant challenge driven by increased carbon emissions due to modern lifestyles. The program highlighted the urgent need for coordinated action to mitigate long-term consequences of climate change, including rising sea levels that threaten coastal cities like Lagos.
