Rivers Deputy Governor Praises Healthcare Task Force Progress

During the 2026 Second Quarter Review Meeting of the Task Force on Primary Health Care held at the Government House in Port Harcourt, Professor Ngozi Odu, the Deputy Governor of Rivers State and Chairman of the Task Force, commended the steady progress in the primary healthcare sector over the past three years. She attributed this success to teamwork, commitment, and the determination of Task Force members to enhance service delivery.

Professor Odu noted that the Task Force's efforts have raised performance standards, resulting in improved healthcare outcomes across the state. While acknowledging the encouraging progress, she urged members to maintain momentum and focus on expanding access to quality healthcare at the grassroots level.

She advised participants to present practical, solution-oriented reports highlighting accomplishments, challenges, and recommendations. Additionally, she praised Dr.

Chituru Adele, Executive Secretary of the Rivers State Primary Health Care Management Board, for effective leadership and coordination. The meeting also reviewed second-quarter performance and outlined strategies for sustaining healthcare improvements in Rivers State.
