Rivers Police to Enforce Crackdown on Unregistered Vehicles

The Rivers State Police Command, represented by spokesperson Grace Iring Koko, announced a statewide enforcement operation targeting unregistered vehicles and those with obscured number plates, set to begin on March 16. The initiative aims to enhance public safety and strengthen crime prevention efforts across the state.

Iring Koko emphasized that vehicles lacking proper identification pose serious security threats and are often linked to criminal activities. She warned against the unauthorized use of revolving lights by private individuals, stating that such devices are strictly prohibited and will lead to vehicle impoundment and potential prosecution.

Additionally, the police cautioned against the use of tinted glass in commercial vehicles, as these are frequently associated with armed robbery and kidnapping syndicates. Motorists are urged to ensure their vehicles are properly registered and to carry relevant documentation while driving.

Commissioner of Police Olugbenga Adepoju assured residents that the enforcement will be conducted professionally and fairly, urging cooperation for public safety.
