Delta Police Prosecute 68 Traffic Offenders in Crackdown

The Delta State Police Command has intensified efforts to enforce traffic regulations, resulting in the prosecution of 68 traffic offenders during a mobile court session held in Warri and Asaba. The crackdown is part of a broader initiative to curb the rising trend of traffic violations across the state.

Offenders were charged with various infractions, including seven individuals using unauthorized number plates, five driving against traffic, and 15 operating vehicles without registration. Other charges included the illegal use of sirens, road obstruction, and driving without valid licenses.

The police emphasized that unregistered vehicles and concealed number plates are often used in criminal activities to evade security checks. The enforcement actions are in collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Corps and the Delta State Traffic Management Agency, aiming to enhance public safety and reduce traffic-related incidents.

The police urged motorists to comply with traffic regulations and reaffirmed their commitment to a zero-tolerance stance on traffic violations.
